Liz Gaudette, RN, LCCE, CD (DONA)
  Liz Gaudette

Liz believes that giving birth is a miraculous event, worthy of reverence and kind attention.  While working as a nurse and childbirth educator, she noticed easier, more satisfying births for women with dependable labor support.   Her private practice, With Child Doula Service, was “born” in 1997 out of those rewarding experiences.   Since that time, Liz has provided a wide-range of educational and birth support services to families in NH, MA, and ME.

Using gentle guidance and evidence- based instruction; Liz helps women to develop courage and effective coping skills for birth.  Her presence is in the birthing room is considerate, never replacing a partner’s loving attention, nor interfering with medical care.  As a former co-facilitator of the Mother-To-Mother support group in Portsmouth, she has a special devotion for women who are depressed, anxious, or those who’ve suffered with postpartum depression Liz knows the most important issue facing expectant families in 2011 is the alarmingly high and rising Cesarean birth rate, (currently 32.9%).  To that end, she actively supports women who seek vaginal birth after Cesarean, (VBAC).

Services include: birth-planning, private classes, bedrest classes, labor support, and breastfeeding education. Payment plans are encouraged and welcome. A founding member of Seacoast Doula Group, Liz is also a certified Lamaze Childbirth Educator and HypnoBirth practitioner.  She and her husband moved to York, ME, 8 years ago after raising their son and daughter in southern New Hampshire.
