Lisa Goulet, RN, IBCLC
  Liz Gaudette

Lisa is an experienced maternity nurse and mother to 4 amazing children.  She has personally experienced the challenges, joys and rewards of natural childbirth, exclusive breastfeeding and parenting her own children.  She feels she has valuable life experiences, a broad knowledge base and the passion needed to be with families during pregnancy, labor & birth, breastfeeding and the postpartum period.

Lisa's primary role is non-clinical: to mother the mother, nurture the newborn and support the family unit through information, guidance, understanding, encouragement, support, assistance and advocacy.  She is attentive, compassionate, nurturing, gentle, sensitive, supportive, respectful, resourceful, intuitive and a great listener.

Because Lisa is an RN, IBCLC she has the ability to do clinical assessments, care and lactation consultations within her scope of practice when necessary, however Lisa's practice is built on a preventative or wellness model.  She feels that preventing problems before they start is so much more productive than trying to fix them once they occur.  For this reason Lisa offers individualized prenatal support and information, non-clinical labor & birth support services and unique in home mother-baby postpartum care services: scheduled, overnight, and/or last minute care.

Lisa lives in Southern ME and is currently offering her services in ME & NH.

Gwen Davis Vesenka, IBCLC

Gwen has been passionate about helping mothers and babies breastfeed since giving birth to her own first baby in 1993. That life-changing event changed a career scientist into a staunch breastfeeding supporter. Gwen truly believes that many of the world’s problems could be eliminated if all babies were breastfed and she will work hard to help mothers achieve that goal.  She became a La Leche League Leader in 1997 and a Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2004. Gwen is an active member of the Southern Maine Breastfeeding Coalition. Although her own three boys are now weaned, she continues to lead LLL meetings in Kennebunk, Maine, as a way to offer ongoing breastfeeding support to families.

In order to help those who need one-on-one assistance, Gwen is offering lactation consultation through her private practice, Lactation Works. Based in Kennebunkport, Maine, Gwen is available for in-home visits throughout much of Southern Maine and Seacoast New Hampshire. Her services include packages for prenatal, postpartum and telephone consultations. These are usually a one-time fee so that breastfeeding and not cost, will be the focus of the time spent together. A physician’s report and written care plan are included, as are any necessary follow-up calls related to the original problem. She would be honored to help mothers achieve the life-long feeling of joy and empowerment that comes from successfully breastfeeding her baby.
