Sandy Tufts, CD (DONA)

Sandy is a DONA certified birth doula with a commitment to supporting women and their partners throughout their birthing journey. Her goal is to help each woman recognize and develop her own confidence and ability to give birth, as she defines it.

Living in Eliot, Maine with her husband and two beautiful little girls, Sandy has been a doula since January 2007 and also holds a Master's Degree in Social Work. She feels that the more expecting parents learn about and understand the birthing process, the less fearful they become. By educating clients about their many choices in childbirth, Sandy works to guide them safely through their own unique childbirth experience — respecting the decisions they make.

Finding the experience of birthing her own babies to be such a magical time, she is honored to inspire other woman to enjoy this profound event as well. She has an immense respect for the natural process of birth and strongly believes in the amazing ability of woman's body to birth her baby.

In addition to continuous labor support, her services include: initial interview (free of charge), 1 – 2 prenatal visits, on-call from two weeks before due date until the birth, one postpartum visit, a written time line of the labor and, if desired, photography of labor and birth. An album containing your photos will be provided at the postpartum meeting to help preserve the memory of this special day.

Visit her website at www.sandytufts.com for more detailed information about Sandy and her services. Serving: Southern ME, Seacoast NH and North Shore MA.
